This large lake is as blue as the sea. We will take a cruise on the lakeside and experience the beauty of Sailimu Lake from the lake. Then we will go to the west bank of Sailimu Lake. What kind of feeling will the calm blue lake between the blue sky and the pasture bring us? Afterwards, we will go to Yining City, where we learn about lavender planting and processing in the lavender farm.

• Sailimu Lake

Sailimu Lake is the highest and largest alpine cold water lake in Xinjiang, and it is also the last place where the warm and humid Atlantic airflow reaches, so there is a saying of “the last tear of the Atlantic Ocean”. “Salimu” is a transliteration of Kazakh, meaning “blessing”, which refers to wishing the safety of pedestrians on the Silk Road. There is also a legend that it is derived from the Mongolian word “lake on the ridge”. Also known as “Santai Haizi”, it is named after the three on the east bank of the lake.

Sailimu Lake is a graben lake created by the Himalayan orogeny 70 million years ago, with an area of about 453 square kilometers. In addition to precipitation, the lake water mainly comes from snowmelt water and groundwater, which is salty.

Sailimu Lake is the only way on the ancient Silk Road. Qiu Chuji in the Yuan Dynasty wrote famous poems here. Lin Zexu in the Qing Dynasty also recorded Sailimu Lake. Tombs and other historical relics.

Sailimu Lake was listed as a national key scenic spot in 2004, and a road around the lake was built in 2005. After that, cycling races around the lake began to be held regularly. In 2010, it became a national 4A-level scenic spot in China. The best tourist time is 6-7 The meadow flowering season of the month.
