We visited Fire Temple that the Zoroastrian sacred site, in the desert oasis city of Yazd in central Iran. As well as the Amir Chakhmaq Complex in the center of Yazd.
The Fire Temple is the sacred site of Zoroastrianism in Yazd, and Yazd is the gathering place of Zoroastrianism in Iran. Although Zoroastrianism originated in Persia, it has been in decline since the Islamic invasion in the seventh century AD. However, the Persian Empire and later Iran did not ban Zoroastrianism, but instead preserved it as a cultural heritage of their own country.
Then we arrived at Amir Chakhmaq Complex, located in the city center. The landmark building is famous for its symmetrical sunken niches and is used by Shia Muslims to commemorate Ashura. The complex contains a mosque, as well as inns, bathhouses and numerous restaurants.
