After we arrived in Yazd, we came to the Dowlatabad Garden in the city center, but is the surrounding environment really the city center and not the suburbs…
The Dowlatabad Garden houses the world’s tallest wind tower, which is 33.8 meters high. There is also a long pool in the garden, with water drawn from a qanat from the city 64 kilometers away from Yazd.
The Dowlatabad Garden was built in 1747, collapsed and turned into ruins in 1793, and was repaired in 1811. The Wind Tower Palace was rebuilt in 1983, and other buildings were gradually rebuilt.
Dowlatabad Garden became an Iranian national heritage in 1968 and a World Cultural Heritage in 2011.
